We do everything we can to ensure that your personal data remains private. When you order tickets from us, we only ask for the information necessary to process your order. Your data is stored in a highly secure environment on a server in the Netherlands. Besides you, only authorized persons within our organization can view your data. We will never share your information with third parties.
We request your personal data so that we can assist you in the best possible way. Below, you can see which data we request and the purpose of its use. You can also see your rights, who has access to your data, and how long we retain your information.
This privacy policy was last modified on May 14, 2018.
According to privacy legislation, we must state the ‘legal grounds’ we have to use your data. We need your data due to the contractual agreements between you and Topticketshop, such as your purchase of a product.
We may also use your data under ‘legitimate interest’. This means that we want to provide all our customers with the most optimal, personalized service. We always keep your privacy in mind. This applies to:
The organization may also decide that tickets must be issued in the buyer's name. In this case, the necessary information is shared with our supplier. We may also have a legal obligation to use your data, for example, if we suspect fraud. And sometimes you have given us permission to use your data, such as when you subscribe to the newsletter. We keep track of this carefully.
We only share your data with other parties if it is genuinely necessary for our services. This includes the following parties: delivery partners, payment partners, IT service providers, and companies that collect our reviews. After all, our delivery partner needs to deliver your order to the correct address. Parties like data management platforms, media and advertising agencies, and research firms come into play when we want to provide you with personal advice or show targeted ads, for example, based on your interest in certain products. In suspicious situations, we are required to share customer data with government authorities.
The parties that gain access to your data from us may only use it to provide you with a service on behalf of Topticketshop, unless they are independently responsible for obtaining and protecting your data. Some cookie developers have access to data that cookies collect on our website. You can read more about this in our cookie statement and in the privacy policies of these parties. We never sell your data to third parties.
We store your data in various databases. We always apply strict security measures. East or west, home is best: that’s why your data is almost always stored within the European Union. In the exceptional case that customer data is transferred to countries outside the European Union, we ensure that your privacy is protected appropriately. For some countries, this is officially established. Some American companies are registered under the Privacy Shield, which offers adequate protection. Alternatively, we work with official model contracts specifically drawn up to ensure your privacy.
We do not retain or use your data longer than necessary. After that, we delete all the data we have from you. Or we use your data anonymously, as we need certain data for internal analyses and reports, such as the value of your order.
Sounds straightforward, but how does this work in practice? We adhere to certain timeframes after which we delete your data. These are: We delete inactive customer accounts after 7 years. After this period, we only use your data anonymously for internal reports. The tax authorities require us to retain our records with your invoice, payment, and order data for 7 years. After that, we use only anonymous data for internal reports. You should also keep the invoices for your purchases, for example, if your warranty expires.
If you have subscribed to the newsletter or given permission to receive personalized messages, we retain that permission for 5 years. Even if you decide at some point that you no longer want to receive the newsletter or personalized messages, we retain the withdrawal of your request. We do not keep the emails you receive from us for more than 60 days. So you don’t have to worry about receiving the same email multiple times from us. After this period, we only use your data anonymously for internal reports.
We retain data that we use to prevent fraud for a very long time. Not pleasant, but necessary.
Of course, you remain in control of your data. Would you like free access to your personal data and receive a copy? Or would you like to modify, delete, limit the use of your data, or adjust your email preferences? No problem. You can do this yourself in your My Topticketshop account. Or let us know by post or email. This way, you can also object to the use of your data for marketing purposes or indicate that you believe your privacy outweighs our interest. In that case, we will review the situation again.
Unsubscribing from the newsletter is easy. You can do this in your My Topticketshop account or via the link at the bottom of the newsletter itself. And if you want no cookies at all? You can also manage that yourself. Read in our cookie statement how to do this.
We want to make sure that you are indeed you. Therefore, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity. We do this with unclear requests as well.
